How Receipt Maker uses information

Receipt Maker creates documents from the business details, customer details, items, amounts and dates you enter. It supports a reusable business profile, saved document history, PDF and PNG exports, and printing. This policy describes those features, the installation counter and the optional feedback routes.

Business profile and preferences

Using Save in the business details section stores the business name, address, contact information, tax identifier and label, tax defaults, currency, country, document kind, footer, paper style and a resized PNG copy of the selected logo. Changing the paper style or paper size also saves that preference. Contact information may include an email address or telephone number that you enter.

The extension stores these values in Chrome extension storage, together with the document counters and the history described below. Clearing the visible fields is not the same as deleting saved history.

Saved documents and suggestions

A successful PDF or PNG export records a document snapshot. The history can contain up to 200 documents; the Recent documents section shows the latest 20. A snapshot includes the business details, payer name and address, item descriptions, quantities, prices, tax, discounts, tips, payment details, notes, currency, document kind, paper, language, document number and dates. An export time and an internal history-entry identifier are recorded too.

Customer and item suggestions are derived from saved documents. An unchanged document exported again in the same workspace session is not recorded twice. Opening a recent document creates an editable copy with a new document number and today's issue date. The original saved document remains in history.

The two top-level storage entries are receiptMaker.v1, containing the business profile, preferences, counters and history, and receiptMakerRatePrompt, containing rating-prompt timestamps and an answered or dismissed state.

Exports and printing

Download PDF and PNG create files through the browser's download mechanism. Print opens the browser print dialog. The extension does not receive confirmation that a print job completed, so printing alone does not add a history entry or advance a saved document counter.

The payment-method field reduces a card-like run of 13 to 19 digits to its last four digits when that field is committed. Other text fields are not a card-number filter. Enter only the information needed for the document.

Analytics

The bundled welcome page opens after installation and contains one image request to the publisher's analytics counter. Its configured page address identifies Receipt Maker. The request gives the analytics service the request time, IP address and browser request headers, which can include a user agent. Cookies may be read or set subject to browser settings and the service's response.

The counter measures loads of that welcome page. Reloading or reopening the page can create another request, so a page-load count is not necessarily a count of unique installations. Analytics handling and retention also depend on the counter settings and the service's terms. The counter is an image, not a remote script.

Feedback and reviews

The rating prompt uses up to three display timestamps within a 30-day window. Answering or dismissing it suppresses later prompts. In this version, one to three stars open the publisher's feedback page in a new tab; four or five stars use the extension's Chrome Web Store reviews page once a store item identifier is configured. Before then, those buttons display a message that the store page is not available.

If you send optional feedback from that page, the page asks what went wrong and offers a comment box. The publisher receives the reason you picked, any comment you typed, the extension version and the interface language. The publisher does not collect your email, your name, an install identifier or your IP address through that page. Comments are delivered to the publisher through Telegram so they can be read; submissions without a comment are stored only as counts. The publisher does not sell this information.

Removing the extension may open the publisher's goodbye page, which offers an optional uninstall survey. Completing it is optional.

Retention and deletion

Current document: unsaved edits last until a new document replaces them or the workspace tab is reloaded or closed. A previously exported snapshot can still remain in history.
Saved history and suggestions: Clear history removes saved documents and the customer and item dictionaries. It does not clear the current form, the business profile or files already downloaded.
Business profile: Clear in the business details section resets the saved profile. It does not erase saved document history, which can contain earlier business details.
All extension storage: removing the extension removes its Chrome extension storage, including counters and the rating-prompt record. Downloaded files and documents held by a printer are separate.
Feedback and analytics: questions about submitted feedback or the analytics counter can be sent using the contact route below. Records held by the services behind those routes are also subject to the relevant service's terms and settings.

Access and questions

You can edit the business profile, open copies of recent documents, clear history, and remove the extension. For questions about data handling or a request concerning feedback you submitted, use the feedback page offered by the extension's rating prompt and identify the submission concerned. Rights and request procedures depend on the law that applies to your situation.

Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

This revision describes saved document history and suggestions, profile deletion, export counters, the analytics counter and the hosted feedback routes.
